WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide that is actually found throughout our own bodies — particularly in our eyes, our joints and yes, our skin. Healthy skin is hydrated skin, and hyaluronic acid is one of the keys to moisture retention. However, hyaluronic acid naturally starts to deplete as you age, which can cause dry skin, a decrease in skin plumpness, and an increase in fine lines and wrinkles.

HYALURONIC ACID BENEFITS FOR SKIN

Since it’s a natural component of our skin staying hydrated, it follows that formulas with hyaluronic acid, when applied topically, help to plump skin and smooth wrinkles (making it great for anti-aging!). Hyaluronic acid is even used by plastic surgeons in both facial and lip fillers, on account of its safety, though, you certainly don’t need to see a surgeon to experience the benefits of hyaluronic acid. For a less invasive (but still effective) approach, hyaluronic acid in skincare and hybrid makeup is the answer. These formulas containing hyaluronic acid help your skin retain moisture which combats all sorts of issues related to dehydrated skin. By hydrating dry skin, hyaluronic acid formulas help skin look plumper, which is why it plays a major role in so many peoples’ beauty routines.
