4 Seriously Gorgeous Glam Eye Looks to Try This Holiday Season

A photo of a woman using liquid eye liner to make winged tips

Cue the holiday music, pour yourself some eggnog, and start roasting those chestnuts. The most wonderful time of the year is upon us, and we couldn’t be any more excited to lean wholeheartedly into the festivities. Not just for the hot cocoa, either. A social calendar loaded with holiday parties (virtual or in-person) means ample opportunity to wear our best glam makeup.

To help inspire your own, consider trying one of these four holiday makeup eye looks. Our eye makeup tips and product recommendations will help you nail the look. Note that each look is great for in-person soirees and translates well over video, too.

Champagne Shimmer

Take your holiday makeup cue from one of the season’s favorite sips: champagne! This bubbly inspired look is flattering on every complexion and is easily tweaked according to your preferences.

Step 1: To hide the look of discoloration and add a brightening effect, use your fingers to smooth a pinhead-size amount of Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Concealer before applying your eye makeup.

Step 2: Let it set for a few minutes, then swipe on Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Silk Armor before gently blending with clean fingers. For a sheer wash of champagne shimmer, use only one coat. For more depth, add a second or third.

Step 3: From here, you have a few options. You could create a kitten eye wing with a liquid eyeliner, or apply Superhero No-Tug Sharpenable Gel Eyeliner in your choice of color before smudging out. Or you could keep it chic with a soft glam look by simply adding a coat or two of mascara

Retro Glam

If there’s one time of year where retro inspired looks are especially welcomed, it has to be the holiday season. The key is to stick to crisp, clean lines and to embrace bold, classic colors. One of our favorite retro glam makeup looks is a thick cat eye paired with a true red lip, which is sure to make you the hit of any holiday party.

Step 1: After prepping your lids, apply Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in a shade that's close to your skin tone, such as Courageous Cream, Transformative Taupe, Tough Tan, or Fearless Umber. Blend it out with your finger.

Step 2: Follow up by drawing on a medium to thick wing using Superhero Liner, a unique brush-hair liner that makes creating a wing super easy. (Psst. Check out our guide on how to create a winged eyeliner).

Step 3: Finish with a coat of Hello Lashes+ Volumizing Mascara with Lash Serum, a lash-loving mascara that delivers eye-opening volume in one stroke. It's also formulated with nourishing ingredients such as jojoba and argan oils, as well as biotin.

Step 4: This look pairs brilliantly with Pillow Lips Lipstick in Fanciful, which is available in both a matte and cream finish.

Midnight Eyes

Let’s get smokey. Midnight eyes are exactly what they sound like: slightly moody and mysterious, full of drama, and rich with shades of blue and black. We think they’re perfect for anyone going for major glam makeup on New Year’s Eve.

Step 1: You’ll definitely want a primer for this one. We recommend applying a tiny dot of Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Concealer and letting it set. This illuminates the eyelid and doubles as a primer.

Step 2: Next, apply a deep shade of blue across your entire lid using the Heavenly Luxe Tapered All-Over Shadow Brush #27.

Step 3: Apply a slightly darker blue or a gray-black color from the center of your lid to the outer corner. Then, apply a dark black or true black shade from the outer third of your eye and extend it outward to create a “>” shape. Make sure to blend well in each step. You can use either matte or pearly shades.

Step 4: For max drama, apply Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in black along the upper lash line, slightly extending it out and up. Smudge it out with an angled liner makeup brush to prevent any harsh lines. Complete the look with a few swipes of lash volumizing mascara.

Pro Tip: This smokey eye look also works for holiday (cue the Christmas makeup!), so don’t limit yourself to wearing it just one night of the year. You can even use the same technique but with a different color family. Think cranberry, plum, or even emerald!

Gilded

Keep your holiday makeup merry and bright with a golden eye. For this one, focus on a clean wash of gold across your lids and then bring on the va-va-voom with a touch of liquid eyeliner and long, fluttering eyelashes.

Step 1: After priming your eyelids, apply Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Gallant Gold, a pearlized shadow that flatters every complexion. Blend it out with your fingers. For extra sparkle, pat a luminous golden eyeshadow onto the center of each lid.

Step 2: Using Superhero Liner, draw on a wing that’s as long or short as your festive heart desires. A kitten eye is perfect for a soft glam makeup look, but if you’re keen on turning up the volume, then make it a thick, long wing!

Step 3: Finish with two or three coats of Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara. You could even apply a few individual falsies at the outer lashes for more drama.
